Accuracy
The accuracy of any of our diagnostic methods is defined as the combination of sensitivity and specificity variables. Sensitivity is the ability to confirm positive results; specificity eliminates negative results. All our samples are validated with high accuracy (up to 98.5%).
Variables
Accuracy can be affected by various factors that our lab cannot control. Infection intensity, patient health, and sample quality, dependent on adherence to “home testing” procedures, can all limit the results. Although our PCR methods are extremely sensitive, a poor-quality swab makes it harder to detect the presence of infection, as fewer viral particles will be present. Early October: I go out with friends, including the hyena Niccolò Torielli (Sconvolt Quiz). However, it will be an initiative aimed at young people to prevent the spread of sexually transmitted diseases in collaboration with Anlaids (National Association for the Fight against AIDS).
It will involve 5,500 schools for approximately 300,000 pupils.
And as I listen to it, the words of my teacher, Claudia Balotta, an infectious disease specialist at the Luigi Sacco Hospital in London, come to mind. Also, “According to the WHO, sexually transmitted diseases involve 330 million individuals every year, and the alarming fact is that 111 million are adolescents (11-15 years old), despite large underestimates (in Italy, it reaches 100-150%).
