The innovative protocol that freed Maria from allergy-related disorders
The one towards Maria was a challenge.
Maria was a prisoner of a disabling allergic condition that had made her life difficult from an early age. Many, too many, conflicting opinions received. Over time, her manifestations had worsened so much that she no longer allowed her to eat anything.
She had always ignored her intestinal symptoms and her allergy to nickel.
Imagine life on an elimination diet for allergies to foods containing the resistant LTP (lipid transfer proteins) associated with the elimination diet for nickel allergy: chicken, chicken, chicken and then chicken.
Over the years, Maria’s diet had become increasingly reduced, leading, on the one hand, to a disabling monotony and, on the other, to a worsening of the intestinal situation due to the appearance of a deficiency dysbiosis, such as that present in individuals with repetitive and various.

I am very happy to tell my story because, after 15 years, I can finally say that I feel great, and the credit goes to the path undertaken with Doctor Manfra.

My problems with allergies and intolerances, resulting in the prescription of various medicines, began at the age of 15 when seasonal allergies gave rise to stomach problems, skin rashes and itching every time I ate summer fruit, chocolate and some types of vegetables. Around the age of 18, things got worse: my intestines were always swollen, with recurrent colic and serious constipation problems. The doctor who was looking after me at the time tried to remove classes of foods, and, at first, I found relief with the elimination of gluten. Despite this, the intestinal problems and allergic reactions persisted. For six years, I did not touch any type of fish due to two episodes of strong anaphylactic shock in conjunction with the consumption of canned cod and tuna. The last specialist visit and the result of the patch tests for allergies highlighted sensitivity to a protein present in all fruits and vegetables. Due to these results, until a few months ago, I could only eat meat, rice and a few vegetables, which didn’t seem to give me too many problems, but I continued to have itching and skin rashes, stomach pain and above all, a swollen intestine. Furthermore, a secondary effect of poor nutrition was weight gain despite food restriction, chronic tiredness and a continuous sense of drowsiness, which also affected mood.

After the first few weeks, Dr Manfra and Dr Giordano followed me for two months. I started to feel the dietary pattern prescribed: I no longer had stomach pains and swollen intestines, and the itching and skin rashes had disappeared. I am more clear-headed and active and no longer suffer from drowsiness, especially after lunch; my mood has also been positively affected, and I am no longer afraid of eating and feeling sick.

It’s the first time I’ve gone to a specialist, and instead of removing foods, he adds them: I’m eating fish again, cereals with gluten and fruit and vegetables that had always given me problems in the past. Thanks to their knowledge and professionalism, I eat things I haven’t eaten in years. For this, I will always be grateful to them.

Jessica: “The low-nickel diet that gave me my life back.”

When Jessica showed up in my office, she was very disheartened.
The memory I have of her is of a fragile girl in need of help but also very prejudiced. Her clear hesitation laid the foundation for many, too many, failures that she had encountered in her past.

The nickel allergy she had been fighting against for some time seemed to be getting worse every day, and no one had been able to offer her an effective therapy.
It was difficult for me to convince her that all was not lost and that she just needed to give me a chance to figure out how to help her. With no small amount of reluctance, Jessica let go and allowed me to help her. Below is her testimony…

“Dr Manfra was recommended to me by my ENT doctor. I went to her because of an ear and nose problem for which no one could find a remedy. I did in-depth allergy tests and was diagnosed with two fairly serious allergies. Strong, including nickel.

I turned to Dr. Manfra because, by doing some research, I discovered that nickel is present above all in foods, and the doctor is an expert in drawing up specific diets for patients with serious problems.

For the last year, I couldn’t figure out what was bad for me when I ate. I had big problems with dairy products, aubergines, and mushrooms, but then everything seemed to create various problems: bloating, constipation, and diarrhoea. There was also severe continuous nausea, frequent abdominal pain and, in some cases, skin rashes and continuous itching of the hands. A truly unsustainable situation.
In the past, I also went to other doctors, but no one could give me long-term solutions. I got into the car and tried again, even though I was very hesitant.
I have yet to make anyone fill out a form with all my data, pathologies, problems, etc. This alone showed a big difference. Once I arrived, the doctor listened to me and created a food map diet for me from scratch, paying attention to nickel.
I was and am a real clinical case. Patient with endometriosis, irritable bowel syndrome and nickel allergy. The first 5 weeks were tough, but the symptoms and pain were reduced by almost 90% if we wanted to give a percentage. Little by little, there were reintroductions to help us understand what to eat again or what to eliminate.

The doctor explained how to prevent nickel tolerance levels from rising again. I entered the optics.
When I felt like I couldn’t do it, she encouraged me to keep going. She followed me for 5 months, and I still follow her diet today.

Result: last ultrasound at the gynaecologist, no pain, the colon was not irritated, the haemorrhoid problems caused by constipation decreased; I achieved a certain intestinal regularity; I ate some types of dairy products and also various ice creams, something I hadn’t been able to do for years; rashes gone; I’m eating eggplant again. I’m always experimenting with the foods I introduce slowly, and based on the reaction, I decide whether to eat them or not. I am much better in every sense.
